Dr. Pragya Suman is a doctor by profession and a writer by passion, seamlessly blending the precision of medicine with the depth of literature. Her literary journey began in her father’s library, where she first encountered the transformative power of words.
Her poetry, reviews, and fiction have been featured in over fifty esteemed literary magazines and anthologies, including Beir Bua Journal, 3:AM Magazine, Impspired Magazine, Arcs Prose Poetry Magazine, The Bengaluru Review, and The Pine Cone Review, among others. Recognized for her contributions to literature, she has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Gujarat Sahitya Academy (Indian Government) and won the Gideon Poetry Prize in the summer of 2020. In 2022, she was honored as Poet of the Year by Ukiyoto Publishing, Ontario, for her book Photonic Postcard, a collection of prose poems.
Her debut book, Lost Mother (2020), marked the beginning of her published literary work, followed by Photonic Postcard. She has also been the editor of Arc Magazine, an experimental literary journal, curating four issues before pausing to focus on her own writing.
Dr. Pragya’s literary style is deeply influenced by surrealism, experimental multilayered narration, existentialism, and the dissolution of traditional narrative seams. She believes that humor, when wielded with precision, is a lethal weapon in storytelling.
Currently, she resides in Dhanbad, India, with her husband and daughter, where she continues to craft her unique literary vision.
